Mac os x 10.4.11 and x11

Asked by wtipct

I am running a mac book pro os tiger 10.4.11 when I open Inkscape it asks were x11.app is. I have tried downloading and installing x11.app but it says that this upgrade is not needed. Does anyone know were to point inkscape to find x11.app? Or a work around for this?

Have you tried starting X11 first and then starting Inkscape?
I believe it is under Applications/Utilities in 10.4.x

I can not find the X11 program. it is not in applications/utilities I have searched for it in spotlight but it can not find it but when I download it and try to install it, it tels me that it already exists.

I've tracked down some references, and it appears that the solution is simply to install from the OS discs, not the downloaded version. It might be a little hard to track down, but it should be on the install DVD.
