convert my SVG drawing to code

How do I get to the full SVG code for a graphic that I have created with Inkscape?
The XML Tree works, but I want a single text document with the entire code so I can pass it on (to my Prof!).

Just save it as Inkscape SVG or Plain SVG.

... and open it with a text editor instead of Inkscape

.svg already is a text document ;)
