I want to join two paths by snapping a node of path A to an end-node of path B

Asked by Pieter deGroot

I want to know how to select two paths or the endnodes of two different paths at the same time in Inkscape, so I can join them. When I select the second one, the first one deselects. I've tried several answers I've red on the internet, but still it doesn't work.

This is what I just tried. (I marked the problem with !!.. ..!!):

JOINING TWO PATHS END TO END
Using the object selection tool, select one of the paths
Using the node selection tool, select all the nodes in the selected path by boxing around the path
Drag the path by the end node that you want to join, over to the end of the other path where it will snap into place
!!..Using the object selection tool, select both paths..!!
Chose Path-Combine from the menu bar
Using the node selection tool, box select around the two end nodes that are now overlapped (do not just click or you will only select the top-most node)
Choose the Join selected end nodes icon in the node tool toolbar to fuse these together

I hope anyone can help me out, Thanx!!
