Insert textboxes?

Asked by bas

Hi

I have just installed Inkscape and I would like to know if it is
possible to insert textboxes and how?

I am looking for an easy application to use for creating flowcharts
and maybe I can use Inkscape.

I would like the possibility to click an icon to insert textboxes.
It should be possible to add text to a textbox for example by clicking
on the box.
The textbox should have visible borders and you should be able to
change the border color. The size of the textbox should get bigger
and smaller relative depending on how much place the text inside
takes up. In that way the text inside the textbox should never
overflow the borders of the textbox.

If it is not possible to insert textboxes in the current version
I would like to make it a feature request.
It would be great if the textboxes were in diffterent shapes
such as squares, diamonds, circles and the like.

Unless you know a more suitable application you will recommend?

I am danish and maybe my english is not quite correct but I
hope you understand.
You are welcom to contact me at <email address hidden>.

Thank you.

kind regards,
Martin

You can't create diagramming/flowcharting style textboxes in Inkscape right now.

I recommend Dia or Kivio, speaking of open source applications.

Hi Alexandre

Thank you for your answer.

Maybe I will try Kivio or maybe I can use
the shapes in Writer from OpenOffice.

Kind regards,
Martin
