when I am going to save figure in ""bitmap" it will save in "PNG" !!! I don't know how to fix it?

When I press export bitmap in the file menu, export area window apears, to save figure as a bitmap I press

export, suddenlt the file in the "Filename" is changed to the" PNG". but I want to have "BMP" file not "PNG"

What is the problem?

The only bitmap format that inkscape can export to is the PNG format. The
term bitmap can apply to all types of bitmap / raster images (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitmap ) not just the specific BMP bitmap
format ( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMP_file_format ).

The easiest way to get a BMP from inkscape is to export to PNG then convert
it using a bitmap / raster graphics program like the GIMP (http://gimp.org/)
