Use raster effects (menu "Effects -> Raster")

Thanks Alexa, I couldn't get Raster to change the colour of the jpeg but selecting the logo and using the colour bar at the bottom worked for now so thanks for your help as it set me on a new path. Inkscape is great for flyers cards etc. Thanks again. Mudlark.
