Shorten IDs produces always the same IDs for different files

Asked by Lioman

We recently got a problem loading svgs on a website. AngularJS hides all elements with the same ID on the site.
The solution is to give unique IDs and all problems are solved.
By copy and pasting images or storing them as optimized SVG all IDs are the same for different files.
A solution would be an option to set a (short) prefix to optimized Ids.

That is now question but a feature request! I'm not sure if this is the correct place!

Hi Lioman,

Inkscape feature requests should be made here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape

However, this sounds as if you were referring to the export option 'save as optimized SVG'.
This functionality is provided by an external python library called scour.
Feature requests for scour should be made here (be sure to mention you need it for Inkscape):
https://github.com/scour-project/scour

Kind Regards,
 Maren
