working with different DPI resolutions

Asked by HKarlo

I'm working with two different jpeg images that are supposed to be both approx. 10 cm wide. One has a 200 DPI resolution, the other one a 100 DPI resolution. When importing in inkscape, though, none of them is interpreted by the software as being 10 cm wide, actually the 200 DPI one is twice as big as the other and none of them match the paper size and rulers correctly. I suppose this is because of the internal 90 DPI setting in Inkscape. Is there a way to override this? Scaling manually these images is not reliable enough!

Yes. There are some issues with this, and an early code attempt to correct was done using calls that are not always present.
