What is the max of MB inkscape is able to use?

What is the max number of MB is inscape able to use. I have tried 1.5 MB with no success. What will work? Thanks for answering my question.

Hi Larry,

it all depends on your computer's capacities, and upon the contents of the image. Did you search the bug reports for your problem? What's your OS, your RAM, your processor, Inkscape version, the file itself (don't attach, upload somewhere instead and post a link)? What does it say when it cannot open the file? Is this the first start of Inkscape ever?
