Can not enter value after some operations

Asked by kokpat

I am using Inkscape 0.91 (32-bits), Windows 10, Inkscape Language setting is system default or English.

When I start a new Inkscape session, the program work fine.

But after I had working few steps, such as drawing a circle then delete it, all the value entry box (e.g. Stroke style → width) of inkscape that can enter value will be disable, (can not input value and no text display ) but the scrollbar button can still change the width of the stroke.

I think it is more or less like this situation.

Thx.

Thx for replying.

My System Language is Chinese (Traditional).
I had test Inkscape Language setting to system default and English.

Both got same situation.

I had tried an unusual method and seems the program was solved (not test in detail).
I had install a program call Locale-Emulator and set it to "English".
Then I need to execute Inkscape through this program.

https://xupefei.github.io/Locale-Emulator/

Is there any method to exe the inkscape without through other program or is it a bug ?
(Both Inkscape 0.48.5 and 0.91 have this problem)

Hi kokpat,

I've asked the developers here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/999422

Would you subscribe to the report and answer any questions the developers may have?

Regards,
 Maren

Oh, and an idea:

You could try if the current development version still has this issue.
Get it from
https://inkscape.org/download

(scroll down to get to development version for Windows)

First, thx for your reply.

I see you asked the developers before, so I think I will not repeat the action.

Maybe u can also attach the solution that I propose (with link).

I had tested the development version as you mentioned "inkscape-14990-win32", the problem is still here.

BTW, if I change the interface language to "Chinese", it will crash when I select multi objects. But this problem can be solve just swtich to "English" (0.91)

I think the latter problem is known, I seem to remember it was a topic on the mailing list.

Thank you for testing with the devel version, I will add the info to the report (but it wouldn't have been a problem if you had done that, more info is always good :-) )

 Maren
