Qt Port of Inkscape

Asked by Vikko Okviandho

So, considering how broken the state of Gtk nowadays, you know, a bit of update and everything breaks. Well, not really everything, but you know what I meant. Do you guys have any plan to move to Qt? It's more lightweight and the performance is pretty good compared to Gtk in my experience. I might be wrong, though. And if the resource is limited, why don't you do Kickstarter (or something) like Krita did? It surely will help.

Hi Vikko,

as far as I know, there are no current plans for moving to Qt. A move to GTK3 is what the developers are currently working on for the version after 0.92.

If you would like to discuss this further with the Inkscape developers, please contact them via their mailing list or via the devel chat channel on IRC.

Also take a look at the 'Funded Development' section on the website, if you're interested in organizing crowd funding for Inkscape:

Kind Regards,
 Maren
