Unable to paste image to Inkscape and have Trace Bitmap see it

I copied an image and usually I highlight the image in Inkscape, then click Trace Bitmap for it to recognize the image . Now when I click Trace Bitmap, nothing is happening.

Hi LindaSue,

there are several reasons why a dialog doesn't open:

1. It's minimized. Look into the dock area at the right. Is there a tiny icon/text, which symbolizes the missing dialog? Click on it to maximize.

2. You're using a multi-monitor setup on OS/X. See
