I cant get the eraser to work. Do you have an update?

when I import an image or typing an image and want to erase something little by little I cant do it. How do I delete backgrounds etc... Is there a training manual that shows how everything works.

Hi Jason,

Inkscape is a vector graphics editor (pictures that consist of separate objects, like circles, paths, rectangles).

It is not meant primarily for doing tasks like photo editing or editing other raster graphics (pictures that consist of colored dots). If you are looking for a program that helps you with editing images in jpg, png, bmp format, you should check out the (free and open source) Gimp (http://gimp.org).

That said, you can learn more about Inkscape usage by following the links in our website's Learn menu (don't forget to also look into the subpages of that menu).
