'Paste style' isn't working when I'm using fonts.

Asked by Justin Hancock

Paste style isn't working when I'm using fonts. This usually isn't a problem in windows but I've found it when working in ubuntu. Paste style seems to work for other items, just not fonts.

Hi Justin,

do you mean you are pasting *to* or *from* a text object?

And some more questions to get to the root of the problem:

Which Inkscape version do you use? Which Ubuntu version?

Can you upload a file somewhere (use a file hosting service, like dropbox or framadrop) that demonstrates the issue and also give exact step-by-step instructions how we can reproduce the behaviour?

Kind Regards,
 Maren

Hi Maren

I want to change text from one font to another. I've got lots of text I need to change in blocks. Usually I can do this by copying one font and then doing 'paste style' to change the font. This always works in windows but since moving to Ubuntu it's not working. I've uploaded a few seconds of video of my problem to my google drive below.

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 and Inkscape 0.48 (the latest available version from the Ubuntu Software Centre).

Many thanks

Justin

Now that's a screencast :)

Works in Inkscape 0.91 for me on Ubuntu 14.04.
You can install the current version from the Inkscape ppa:

https://launchpad.net/%7Einkscape.dev/+archive/ubuntu/stable

Btw. you can also do Ctrl+C and Ctrl+Shift+V to copy/paste style.
I found that's faster - but you may have done it this way just for screencasting purposes.

Kind Regards,
 Maren

The upgrade seems to have done the trick.
