SVG graph does not draw in Sparkol Scribe

Asked by Ton

Hi, I want to use Inkscape for converting from color PDFs or PNGs to SVG in order to use them in Sparkol videoscribe. In my tests the resulting SVG gets visible in color in Sparkol, but it will not get drawn.

Hi Ton,

Often, when a pdf file is imported into Inkscape, and you really want to use it with other programs, it will need a lot of cleanup of unneeded elements. You should:

- Remove any clips and masks that are not needed (see status bar when you have an object selected)
- Ungroup groups that are not needed
- Delete all objects that are not needed

This will greatly simplify the drawing and make it easier for programs that do not support the full SVG standard to display the contents of some files.

If these hints do not help:
What is the difference between 'being drawn' and 'being visible in color'? I do not understand :-(

Can you explain a bit more what works and what does not?

Kind Regards,
 Maren
