how to show inkscape toolboxes across top

I would like to know how to move the tool boxes from the right side of the screen to the top.

Hi Althea,

you can't move the tool box at the left.
But you can move the snap settings at the right.
Not sure which one you mean ;)

You can change the location of the different bars by choosing between the three display modes that are available at the bottom of the 'View' menu: Default, Custom, Wide.
