How do you slice up an Image (crop)?

Asked by Jeremy Pisanic

I have an image that I would like to slice up and rearrange the elements of. I have looked all through Inkscape and cannot seem to find an easy way to simply slice up an image. Currently I use Snipping Tool and then import the newly created images. This does not seem very efficient.

How do I slice up an image?

It looks like I figured it out. I create a box over the area I want to cut and select both the image and the area. Then I choose Clip >Set. It looks like I need to make a copy of the original before doing this since it erases the original. Is this the best way?

I believe the above solution is the best answer.

Depends on the result you want to get. Clipping does not delete the other parts of the image, it only hides them.
If you really want to delete parts of the image, look into Boolean operations.
