I am having trouble with my pencil tool. How can I reset my default tool settings in inkscape?

My Pencil tool will only fill. I checked my fill and stroke options. I try and set me stroke to a color and my fill to none but what i get is either a filled line or a invisible line. How do i reset me tool defaults?

Hi Josie,

1. Create a path with the pencil tool.
2. Change the path's style to what you want to have the pencil tool use
3. Make sure that the stroke's alpha value is 100% (alpha is for color opacity), and that the stroke width in the third tab is wide enough to see.
4. Select the line.
5. double-click on the pencil tool icon.
6. Select 'this tool's own style', then 'Take from selection'
7. Now all paths you draw with the pencil tool will always start out like the one you have just drawn.
