Saving in PDF an imported JPG filethe dimension is encreased10 times. Why?

Yes, I imported a 400k jpg file and saved in PDF. The file dimension is increased to 4 MB.
Is there any set up to perform?

if you're using an Inkscape version older than 0.91, please update. I've just tested this on 0.91, and the resulting pdf file is about the same size as the jpg. I think there were some changes made to how Inkscape saves jpg files in this version.

If you don't want to update, you could also use some other software to turn a jpg to a pdf, e.g. imagemagick, or you can even try if some office suite will do the trick.

If you're already using Inkscape 0.91, it might be interesting to see the actual file for testing. If you'd like to upload it, please use a file hosting service. This answers section does not support any attachments.
