how to remove border around logo made in inkscape

Asked by Kathy Jameson

if it is a logo or object (like a frame)/border) that is made in inkscape and not imported, is it possible to avoid having the white border that surrounds everything? I want to use these in powerpoint over a colored background.

Thanks,
Kathy

All inkscape-made drawings have by default a transparent background, yes.

Everything I've made and tried to use in powerpoint still has the white background around it. I'm very new to this, so I wonder if I have clicked on something to change the default. How do I change it back? All the things I have made are useless at this point.
