Make a cent sign with font

I would like to make a American dollar "Cent" sign for an svg cutting file. Is there such a figure in any font?

Hi Margaret,

you mean a c with a vertical stroke? I'm sure many fonts have it.

You can check this in the Glyphs dialog (Text -> Glyphs) for your font, or just type the character using the unicode entry method (see http://en.flossmanuals.net/inkscape/ch019_text-tool/ , section 'Special characters').

or just paste these letters:

¢ and ￠

into a text in your file and try out how it looks with different fonts in the Text & Font dialog's (Ctrl+Shift+T) preview.
