Hi Neeraj,

as Inkscape is a vector graphics editor, it is not intended to edit pixel graphics with it.
If the only thing you want to do is crop bitmap (raster, pixel) images, like jpg, then you'll be happier using a bitmap graphics editor for this, for example the Gimp (http://gimp.org).

That said, you can use clip masks for this task (which will make the image look as if it was cropped, but it still exists completely in your document, only everything outside the clip is no longer visible):
