Great product and I am just now starting to use it. Looking for assistance on creating a widget that can be easily duplicated in other documents. Thanks for any help.

the developers will be happy to read the praise :) (did you know it's a community of volunteers that creates the Inkscape program?)

I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean by 'widget' - maybe a symbol? (http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/SymbolsDialog) Or a marker? Or something entirely different?
Maybe if you'd describe your intention in a little more detail, we could make a useful suggestion.
