Background transparent

I'd like to work on a transparent background on 'Inkscape 0.9'. Where do i find the option to do that?

Hi Parsa,

Inkscape uses a transparent background by default. It only *looks* white.

This will only become obvious when you export to formats that support transparency, most commonly by using "File" -> "Export to PNG".

To check the current background color of your document, go to
File -> Document Properties: first tab ("Page") at the bottom right: Background color. If you see a checkerboard pattern there, or if you click on it and the alpha value is 0, then your background in Inkscape is fully transparent.
