can I tilt an image

I want to create a collage with tilted images. How do I go about this tilting the image in Inkscape either to the left or right.

Hi Estelle,

try if the 'skew' handles do what you want:

Click on the object you want to skew using the selector tool (key: s or F1, button: the mouse cursor depicted on the top icon at the left). You are now in 'resize mode'.
Click on the object a second time to get 'rotate and skew mode'.

Now there are horizontal handles / vertical handles in the middle of each edge of the object's bounding box.
Drag on them to skew.
