Text grayed out, as if looking through a fog.

Asked by Leroy Grey

I thought it might be a filter so I removed all filters but I still can't see my text clearly. Rather than black and white it appears in the text box as highly diminished to the point of almost being invisible, like looking through a thick fog and barely seeing the outline of the text. I sure hope you can help with this... before I lose more of my hair!

Hi Leroy,

maybe your object is partially transparent?

Got to the Fill&Stroke dialog (Ctrl+Shift+F) and check the settings for alpha (the slider with the A), and for opacity (the bottom-most slider). Make sure they are both set to max (to the far right).

If this doesn't help, please upload your image file somewhere, so we can take a look. If you don't know where to upload, you can create an account at inkscape.org, for example, and upload it to your 'Inkspace' (= gallery) - up to 10Mb size.

Regards,
 Maren

Much appreciated.... The opacity slider was to the far right, but the "A", alpha slider was to the far left. I moved it to the far right and VIOLA!!! text was visible! THANKS!
