SVG Rendering Problems in Google Chrome

Asked by Neil Cary

I have used Inkscape to create a logo in SVG. It renders perfectly when viewed in Internet Explorer but is missing key "decorative" elements when viewed in Google Chrome. What causes this?

Hi Neil,

that depends on what the 'key decorative elements' are ;)
Can you upload the svg image somewhere? And a screenshot from IE and one from Chrome, too.

Thank you, Neil.

The filter you used - metallized ridge - seems to be causing difficulties for your Google Chrome, while IE, Firefox and Inkscape handle it correctly.

My guess here is that your Google Chrome is suffering from a bug - it even works correctly in Chromium, a derivative of Chrome I'm using (version no. 45). The most current Chrome version is 46 - if you're not using that, you might like to update (or it might be the version that breaks the filter ;) ).

Hope that helps,
 Regards,
  Maren

Hi Maren,

Thanks again for taking a look at this. I'm on Version 46.0.2490.80 m of Google Chrome which is apparently the latest.

Anyway, it's good to know the problem isn't with my programming :-)

Take Care

Neil
