Not able to input info in the height and width boxes

I am unable to input info info in the x, y, w and h boxes. I am trying to create a template 6"x3".

Hi Barbara,

in the menu, go to File -> Document properties, and in the first tab, enter your values in the part labelled 'Custom size'.
