How to cut a shape from a .jpg

Asked by KD

I have a .jpg file of a texture and I want to cut a circle from it and save just the textured circle. I have tried drawing a circle over the texture, selecting them both and using the Exclusion path, and nothing happens.

use object->clip->set (your jpg is not a vector object and not a path, you cannot use path operations on it)

[[btw exclusion would not have let you with a circle but with your image and a circle-shaped hole]]
