Bengali font/character problem

Bengali character is not showing. Instead of character, it showing some number with box. see screenshot→ http://i.imgur.com/A9BoN8F.png How can i fix it?

mmh - the only thing I can contribute here is that with Inkscape 0.91 on Ubuntu 14.04, it works (tested with both available Bengali translations).

A few questions that might help us:

Which Inkscape version do you use?
What is your operating system?
Do you have a similar problem in other programs?
Do the English/untranslated parts look normal?

Here is answer:
1. My Inkscape version is 0.91
2. My operating system is Windows 8 pro
3. No, I dont have similar problem in other programs
4. Yes, English/untranslated parts look normal

Is it the same for both Bengali translations? (there is bn and bn_BD - for me they look similar)

(I have no idea in what respect they differ - I don't know anything about your language, sorry!)

Do you have any other GTK programs installed (like the Gimp, for example)?
(I'm asking because this could be a general problem of the GUI toolkit, and not be restricted to Inkscape - but I don't know much about this.)

Yes, same problem

I have GIMP installed but unfortunately bengali (translation) is not available on gimp :(

Thanks for the info. It's a pity that we can't compare with Gimp... :/

I'm not sure if this should be converted into a bug report or not...
