Properties of a curve

If one draws (say) a bezier curve and adds start and end markers from 'stroke style' it seems that the markers can't be the same (stroke) color as the line. Is this correct? If not, what have I missed? I want a line of a given coilour, with start and end markers of the same colour. Whatever I do they remain stubbornly black.
