Hotw to save an image to Jpeg format

After copying images and adding text would like to save to Jpeg for insertion into web site. Cannot find how to do this, Gareth Marshall

Hi Gareth,

please export your image to PNG via File -> Export PNG image. This will preserve background transparency and have an overall better quality than jpg. Jpg export is not currently supported by Inkscape.

If you then still *really want* a jpg image, open the file with any raster graphics editor (e.g. the Gimp) and save it to jpg.
