Asked by Scott

How do I set the default units inkscape uses when it initially opens. I want to use inches instead of pixles.

Create a custom user default template with your preferred document default units. For details, I recommend this article:
http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entry/using-templates-in-inkscape

(Note: while the interface for templates in Inkscape 0.91 has slightly changed - now a dialog instead of a sub-menu - the underlying internals are unchanged, and work as described in the article)

I don't want to reprogram Inkscape. All I want to do is change the measurements on the canvas screen from pixels to inches. I am not a programmer, don't know anything about it, and don't really want to learn. All I want to do is manipulate SVG files to use with my cutting machine which works in inches. Is there a button I can push? I don't want to build a watch, I just want to tell the time. Thanks for any help you can give me. Linda

Can you help with this problem?
