Hi Bárbara,

what does Autocad say when you try to open the file?

Can you upload the three files somewhere? (pdf, inkscape svg, dxf)

(you can answer in Spanish)

Regards,
 Maren

I cannot access your files on googledrive - it asks me to login to google :(

If it is not possible to make them public at google, try the next suggestion:

If the pdf is < 10 Mb, you can make an account at https://inkscape.org.
Then upload the pdf into your "Inkspace" (make a new Inkspace (= gallery), and then upload the file there).

If this doesn't work:
- Make sure the pdf contains vector data, after you have imported it into Inkscape (ungroup, and click on objects to see if they are vector or raster)
- Make sure there are no extra layers

If the dxf file still seems to be empty (this is how I understand what you say), please make this a bug report.

Add info about
- your Inkscape version,
- your operating system,
- which Inkscape file you used to install Inkscape (provide a link)
- your workflow (what did you do to get this result?)

Then attach the files to the bug report.

Regards,
 Maren

Okay, thanks for the public link.

I'm sorry, Bárbara, but the image (la sola entidad) is not in a vector format - as you may have found out by now. It's an embedded raster/bitmap image.

You need to trace it (Trace bitmap, vectorize) first to be able to use it in a dxf for autocad. :-(

Kind regards,
 Maren

Do you mean you do not get a dialog?

You must select the picture, then go to Object -> Trace bitmap. Then a dialog opens, which will allow to automatically trace the picture. If you do not get a dialog, please look at the right of the right scrollbar, if there is a new icon. Click on it.

But I do not recommend that you use the autotrace function for this. It will give you a result that you will have to edit very much for this specific picture (architecture). (in the manual: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Trace.html )

Tracing manually will give you a better result.
Put the picture onto its own layer. Then make another layer on top of the picture. Then draw along the lines manually. This will give you a far better result than the autotrace function in your case.

 Maren

Hola,

as I said before, for this kind of drawing, it will be best if you trace the plan manually - the autotrace function does not create lines, but only filled shapes. So every line on the plan will be a rectangle, instead of a line.

Also, the lines will be fused together, and not separate objects. I don't think that is the kind of result you can use...

Autotrace is great for logos, or simple drawings, but I would not suggest to use it for an architectural plan.

So:
Put the picture onto its own layer. Then make another layer on top of the picture. Then draw along the lines manually. Check the different settings of the Bezier tool, to draw straight / horizontal / vertical lines.
This will give you a far better result than the autotrace function in your case.

Kind regards,
 Maren
