Printing - always black background

Asked by Bill R

I imported a PDF drawing and modified it.
It always prints with a black background. I've set the background to white, but no change.
Can you suggest anything?

Also, any way to select the image to fit the page for printing?
I didn't see any option for that, but I could have missed it.
No options of the print screen like many programs.

Thanks a lot.
Bill

Hi Bill,

this is a known bug with the current 64bit Inkscape version on Windows.

The easiest workaround is probably to just add a white rectangle into the background.

Please take a look here for other possible workarounds:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1418865

Kind regards,
 Maren

About the dialog:

The print dialog is currently very simple, this is a known problem:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/178232

Print preview wish: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/171099.

You can add yourself to the supporters of these bugs, to show to developers that this is important to you.
Note that some properties of that dialog also depend on your printer driver.

The best way I found to get exactly what I want for printing, is to export to png, and then to print with the Gimp ( http://gimp.org/), which has an excellent printing dialog (or you could use any other program you already have installed, of course).
