Disabling of auto group of objects.

Asked by Leon Slabbert

I have a problem. I draw one logo, then duplicate and import other svg files into one SVG. The problem, the objects automatically group to each other.... In the start they all separate objects or drawing, but then if you want to edit one all are one. Is there a way to disable this annoying behavior?

Thx

Hi Leon,

this sounds to me as if you were editing a group, and then, while you are still inside that group, import the other images.
They will automatically be added to where you currently are, so if you are inside a group, they are added to that group.

You need to leave the group first, and then import, to place the imported image outside of the group which is already in the document.

To achieve this, just click on an empty place on the canvas before importing any image.

 Maren

same problem.
tried leaving the group, ungrouping multiple times, copying etc
yet groups are created again and again.
Is there some setting somewhere?

Can you help with this problem?
