laser engraver extension not saving file

I am trying to use the laser engraver extension. everything appears to be working, however it never generates the nc file. I have specified the directories and file name. If I just save the file as an svg, no problem, however I need the nc g code file.

Two hints if you want to try to solve the problem yourself:

Make sure you have write access to the directory where you are trying to save the file and the directory really exists.
Generate a log file (see preferences tab in Path to Gcode dialog), and look if that can give you a hint as to why there is no file created.
