Layers

Asked by Lee

How can I delete sections of a lower layer but keep them in an upper layer? Say circles over a layer but I need the lower layer graphics in the upper layer holes, so like holes in a shirt showing bones, etc

Thank you.

Hi Lee,

I'm not really sure I understand, but if you want to make a hole into an object, you can just put a smaller object in the shape of the desired hole directly above the thing which is supposed to have the hole, select both, and go to Path -> Difference.

If you really mean 'layers' as in the 'Inkscape layers dialog' (not just stacking order), then you might need to explain a bit more about what you're trying to achieve.

Regards,
 Maren
