saving as dxf and spline/node problems

When I save a file as a dxf, and open it in autocad, the outline is all separated, I need it to stay as a smooth joined outline.

For instance the letter L, braeks up into many lines and curves, whereas I want it to remain one grouped unit

Hi geo,

I've never used the dxf file format - I can only guess:
- Is your L a single path or a group of paths? If it is a single path: what do you get if you combine all paths? Or join them manually?
- Did you see the Hershey text extension? It's made explicitly for writing plot-able text.
