printing

im trying to make decals for my snowmobile and when i print the word yamaha it prints fine but the problem is that if i make graphic changes like flames around the letters when it prints it comes out with black background and i need it to stay white. what am i doing wrong?

Hi Kyle,

this is a known bug for the 64bit Windows version for pictures containing partially transparent / blurred objects. Probably your flames aren't fully opaque or have a blurry edge.

Several possible workarounds are listed here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1418865

The easiest one is probably to just add a white background (rectangle) in.

if i put white background and print on clear transfer paper is the white goin to show up?

Yeah, I thought about that, too, after I posted this answer.

This depends on your printer - if it has white color fluid, then probably: yes. If it's just an ordinary home&office printer, then no.

You'd have to go for one of the other solutions mentioned below the linked bug report, then.
