Cant use inkscape

Inkscape opens but I can't use it the window is brown with white dashes everywhere. Every time I try to use it more white dashes appear. I tried redownloading the program but that didn't work. I am running on a Mac with OS X Yosemite.

Hi Jesica,

why did redownloading not work?
Which version did you download? (which file?)
Did you follow the installation instructions on our website?
Could you make a screenshot and upload it somewhere? (not here, unfortunately attachments are not supported, but you could make an account at inkscape.org, and upload it there, for example)

I downloaded the latest Inkscape 0.91 for mac. Not sure why redownloading it didn't work. I downloaded it the same way as I did on my laptop, my laptop version works but my desktop version does not. I uploaded a screenshot of it on my inkscape page. here is the url: https://inkscape.org/en/gallery/item/5341/

Ooh, that looks weird... Not sure if it might have to do with your screen resolution. Thank you, Jesica, for the info.

In this bug report, related to Hidpi displays, there's a screenshot which also shows some artifacts, but not the kind you experience:

Regardless of whether or not the screen is huge (hidpi), the rendering shown should not occur.

(I don't see any artifacts in 1285887, but lots of ugly bitmap scaling and clipping, which is for now to be expected)

So this should better become a bug report, I conclude?
Or should Jesica try to redownload and reinstall again, in case the download files were corrupt?

Jesica, could you open a new bug report for this, attach the picture there directly, and also give some info about your graphics card / driver, just in case? I think it's time to make this a real bug now ;)
