How do I move around the image

How do I move my point of view around a large image without using the selection tool

Hi Doug,

if you are using Inkscape 0.91, you can hold down the space bar and pan by moving the mouse. In all versions you can pan by pressing the middle mouse button and moving the mouse.

I don't know if this works for all selected tools, I only tested for nodes, text and stars, but I guess it will work for most.
