High lag on using calligraphy or pen in 0.91 release

Asked by Sadid

I've found these bugs below, but I'm not sure if this is the same thing or not

I use:
Inkscape 0.91 r13725 (Feb 9 2015)
Archlinux
ATI Radeon 5xxx but with open source driver (no catalyst)
Interl Core i5
8Gig RAM
Also on windows 7 64bit version with ATI driver installed
either with mosue or wacom tablet

after updating to 0.91 release (and also update it again to this latest version 2 days ago), I'm dealing with the same problem: there is a huge lag and very high cpu usage when I use calligraphy or penceil to draw sth. I've tried manything but the performance is still very bad. I didn't have such problem with 0.48 version (nighter on linux nor windows 7).

The reports you linked to are _only_ related to and tracking issues with cairo >= 1.12 on Windows.

Issues on any linux distro need to be tracked separately.

I had this issue on both windows and linux. Just one update is about the size of the file. With 0.48 it's was OK to work with a 4mb svg file but with 0.91 version, the performance is dramatically degrades. This is persistent in both windows and linux.

The reports you linked to are _not_ related to any specific files - they
track a performance regression which occurs independent of the current
drawing content (size, complexity, etc.).

If you experience a performance regression with one specific tool in one
specific file (or with files of a certain complexity) in Inkscape 0.91
independent of the OS/platform used, this should be tracked separately.

Please search the bug tracker for other reports which could be related,
and if there wasn't one filed yet, file a new one, attach the affect SVG
file there to allow further investigation on other systems, and provide
'steps to reproduce' along with the basic information about
OS/platforms, input devices and Inkscape versions which had been tested.
