Crashing after a few minutes of running

I can only use Inkscape for a few minutes before it crashes with the following message:

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

The previous version was doing this, and I just updated to 0.48 and the exact same thing is happening. My machine is running on Windows 7, though I don't know what other information might be relevant.

If anybody knows what this might be, please help. Thank you.

could it be that your problem is the same as this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1246508 ?

Maybe you could also test with the pre-release version 0.91pre3 if the problem still exists?

Hachmann,

I looked at the link you provided, and after some testing with the task manager, yes, it would appear that this is the same problem. I'm not in a position to replace my motherboard, like the other guy did, but I installed the pre-release version and it seems to be working. For the meantime, I think we can consider this problem solved. Thank you.
