Inkscape Yosemite X size scrogged

Yosemite 10.10.1
I tried to change page properties to landscape - I didn't see the page dialog;
Looking for windows, it shows as appearing in X in some vertical location off the monitors (unreachable by any method I could think of).
Any one else seen this?
