Autosave please please please

Inkscape hangs so many times, and we users forget to save. Please please please fix a very easy fix: autosave in the preferences.

Save the files with "punt" in the same folder, and the user won´t mind the extra. This function would take you guys tops one hour, and I lost 8 hours work yesterday. I guess people are loosing allot!

I was almost crying last night since I had to show my customer my work, but I had to do everything from beginning.

There is an "emergency save" feature already implemented for inkscape 0.46
It works very well on the latest revisions.

Just a small note about your comment: "this function would take you guys tops one hour, and I lost 8 hours work yesterday" is quite harsh. Don't expect a nice answer when you write that kind of things. If I was a developer I'd answer: It it's so easy, do it yourself.
And if you worked 8 hours without saving, that doesn't talk very well of you. Even working with commercial grade proprietary applications you should know that saving frequently is a good practise.

And finally: This is not a question. Is a feature request. Please report it in the right place intead of polluting this section with requests.

A new autosave feature is now available with 0.47.
You can set its parameters in File>Inkscape Preferences>Save.
