Chinese character can't be displayed

In my work, I need to create graphics that uses Chinese character. Unfortunately, the Chinese character typed in are displayed as boxes only. I have seen many graphics created with Inkscape that has Chinese character. So, I assume that it is possible to do so. Please help. Thanks!!!

You need to use a font with Chinese character glyphs. On Windows, use Arial MS Unicode or Mincho. On Linux, use Kochi Mincho or Kochi Gothic.
