DXF import on MacOS

Asked by Steve Baker

NOTE: I'm using MacOS.

When I try to import DXF into Inkscape, I get a message telling me to install python-lxml.

The python-lxml page tells me to use:

     sudo port install py27-lxml

...which I did...no errors. (I have python 2.7.5)

However, Inkscape continues to tell me that it needs python-lxml.

"The fantastic lxml wrapper for libxml2 is required by inkex.py and
therefore this extension. Please download and install the latest version
from http://cheeseshop.python.org/pypi/lxml/, or install it through your
package manager by a command like: sudo apt-get install python-lxml"

Is there something else I need to do?

Please install the current version Inkscape 0.48.5 - this was a known problem with older version 0.48.2 on OS X Lion and later versions of OS X (which was fixed in Inkscape 0.48.5).

Dowload Inkscape 0.48.5 for OS X: https://inkscape.org/en/download/
