Hi Tina,

there are many ways to do this in inkscape. I'll just describe one way, which I think is least complicated and still gives a tidy result:

1. Group your original label, if it consists of several objects (select all, Ctrl + G)
2. Select it by clicking on it
3. Duplicate it as often as you need it (Ctrl + D)
4. Arrange it into Rows and Columns, using the dialog under Object -> Rows and Columns

Hi,

One usefull tool for tis is Tiled Clones. Sure you can always copy / paste, but using Tiled Clones allow you to modify your 1st label and the change is reflected on every copy of it automatically.

1) select all the shapes of your label and group tehm together (Object > Group, or CTRL + G)

2) go to Edit > Clone > Create Tiled Clones

3) select "Rows, columns" and fill up the fields (number of labels per row and number of rows per sheet, resp.)

4) in the "Shift" tab, you can choose to spread the resulting tiling (create some blank space between columns and between roxs), by choosing a >0 number in the "Shift X"/"Per column" and "Shift Y"/"Per row" fields (I recommand 5% in this case).
Just to be sure, the numbers shown should be :
                 Per row Per column Randomize
Shift X: 0% 5% 0%
Shift Y: 5% 0% 0%
Exponent: 1 1

5) click create and look at your canvas. Is it OK ? If not, click "Remove", change the parameters and click on "Create" again, until the result looks satisfying.

Again, if you change anything in the "master" label, the change will be reflected on every clone. Nice, huh ?

Regards
