How to "turn off" Windows native file dialogs

Asked by rockstar1707

In the new version of Inkscape (0.46) Windows build is suppose to use native file dialogs. These can be already used in latest nightly builds (from 28th February 2008 for example).

However, I'm wondering If there's a way to disable them and to "get back" GTK file dialogs without recompiling (maybe in some configuration file or so).

Thank you very much for the answer.

Best regards,
Rok

Currently there is no way to get the old dialogs back without recompiling, but now that the bugs have been fixed (as of today) why does that help at all?

Personally I find really useful the way that GTK file chooser handles shortcuts. I really like "drag & drop" of the folders or files to the list on the left side of the dialog.

This was the main motivation for the question. However, you can add shortcuts to the "My Documents" folder, which is kind of similar (but still somehow awkward in comparison with the GTK "way"). Plus, the default folder should most probably be "c:\Documents And Settings\<AccountName>\My Documents" (currently [daily build from 3th of March 2008] it is "c:\Documents And Settings\<AccountName>"), but I believe that this will be changed anyway.
